Weight Loss Success – Mindset Matters

Determined to Achieve Weight Loss Success?

Wweight loss successe all create our reality according to our thoughts, beliefs, and actions. You may have heard this before, but have you really taken time to think about that concept? If you have you been struggling to achieve weight loss success, look closely, you will notice that your life is a mirror image of your thoughts, beliefs, and actions. As someone who has achieved weight loss success, I have come to discover the direct correlation between our thought patterns and our reality. Every person has conscious and unconscious thoughts. Emotions and feelings in our physical bodies are a byproduct of our thought patterns. Therefore, if we are practicing negative thought patterns on autopilot, we are automatically in a habitual state of unease, unhappiness, and living unfulfilled lives. For true weight loss success, we must look deep within ourselves and begin to not only understand, but to change our thought patterns and beliefs about weight loss success.

What are your beliefs regarding weight loss success?

Beliefs are nothing more than thoughts we accept as truth. For instance; let’s say you have regular thoughts that you cannot achieve weight loss success because you are overweight, unhealthy, and because weight loss programs don’t work for you. Now, let’s say your parents were also overweight, unhealthy, and weight loss programs didn’t work for them. Over time, this continued thought pattern will (and probably has) developed into a belief. Now you BELIEVE that you cannot achieve weight loss success because you are overweight, unhealthy, and because weight loss programs don’t work for you.

Often, people who struggle to achieve weight loss success cannot see anything more than their current reality; being overweight. Therefore, as they witness this reality, their belief is affirmed which perpetuates their negative thoughts about weight loss. This becomes a vicious cycle as everything around them confirms what they are thinking. They might notice that they have friends who are experiencing the same reality, because like attracts like. Possibly feeling a constant vulnerability or feeling like a victim is common. The truth is, your reality will prove your beliefs to you at every turn. If you don’t like your current reality, change your thoughts, beliefs, and actions and you will change your reality.

If you truly desire to achieve weight loss success, you must identify your thought patterns and beliefs about weight  and weight loss success. Take responsibility for your life and watch as you transform your reality and achieve the weight loss success you desire. It takes deliberate work to break limiting beliefs and old thought patterns, which is why most people never do it. The journey into self-awareness will deliver you on an unmistakable path of not only identifying your thought patterns, but also acknowledging the effects that they bring into your life.

Steps to Create Change:

Weight loss success can be achieved if you will implement the 3 steps outlined below. Although certain thoughts, beliefs, emotions, and actions may be justifiable, we are not looking to justify our current condition, we are looking to improve it!

  •  Be aware of your thoughts:

What specific thought pattern or belief do you hold that may be preventing you from achieving weight loss success? Recognize your thoughts throughout the day in different circumstances, conversations, and moments of quiet. Don’t judge your thoughts, just notice them.

  • Identify The Feelings and Actions:

How do your thoughts and beliefs about weight loss success make you feel? What type of actions do you take as a result of these emotions (overeat, choose high fat foods, refuse to exercise, wear baggy clothes to hide the weight etc.)?

  • Change your thinking:

Changing the thoughts and actions that are preventing your weight loss success takes practice. Ask yourself “Does it make me feel happy and healthy to keep thinking these thoughts and taking these actions?” Remember that beliefs are only thoughts that we accept as truth, so we must make a habit of thinking better thoughts. Rather than thinking constantly about your weight, try thinking about what your life will be like when you achieve weight loss success and reach your target weight.

When your thoughts go to things, or people, that don’t make you feel good, just notice the thought and then steer yourself to a thought that creates a better feeling within you. Make a deliberate and conscious effort to focus your attention on any and everything that you like! For instance, you like money, outdoor activities, happiness, positive people, love, beauty, lasting friendships, achieving weight loss success, joy, and health; so focus your attention there.
